A busy end of summer for FFH

We did it! We have finished our summer season and it was busy. As I type I  know I am missing the things that you guys are doing day in, day out. Taking care of patients, taking care of friends, parenting, adulting, adopting strays, loving neighbors, saving the world, making your beds. Some days the goals are the sky, others, just getting through that first step. But some last fun accomplishments to be noted are below. Josh, Jordan and Carl  finished the 5k Swim to the Moon in Pinckney, MI.  Josh describes it as a  is a great open water swim through 5 connected lakes.  He swam his personal best and placed 5th in his age group.   This was Carl’s first open water swim as a Masters swimmer.  He placed 3rd in his age group and 11th overall (out of 288 5k swimmers).    Proceeds from the race go to North Star Reach, a camp for children with health issues and disabilities.  Here is the link to the race info:  https://epicraces.com/swim-to-the-moon-race-day-information/

Our usual suspects went to Tri Nationals in Cleveland in August-- Bill Demchak, Debbie Guild and Jim Myers. I know it was hot, really hot. And I know that Deb was really proud of her swim. Congrats to them, love watching how much they love it when they all share a lane and completely disregard the swimmers 5 seconds rule in order to simulate open water tri swimming!

New FFH Chloe Gulati (also PNC team tri) participated in her very first sprint distance tri at the Keystone State Triathlon in Derry, PA. The hilly terrain of Western PA gave her a run for her money on the bike BUT she finished #2 out of the women (and #11 out of everyone) on just the swim portion — " All credit for that definitely goes to FFH and Coach Matt!! Seriously could not have done it without you guys!"  Congrats Chloe-- cannot wait to see what you do next, love adding you to our crew.

And finally-- Coach Matt flew out a few weeks ago to join a friend and help him run in his last 30 miles of his 100 mile ultramarathon/100 mile trail run at serious  altitude. Impressed on all fronts.

Please continue to share your adventures (recall that we house a champion Battle of the Books team on our roster)-- not just the physical ones. Getting out there, trying new things--- always worth sharing.

Cheers to all of you !!
